Washington football was upset last week versus Cal. Can the Huskies get back on track against a dangerous Hawaii team?

The Washington Huskies were considered by many to be the favorite to win the Pac-12 in 2019. But following their Week 2 loss to Cal, the Huskies find themselves in an early hole in the Pac-12 standings. Their loss, plus the performance from the rest of the conference are having almost everyone thinking the Pac-12 is still the worse conference of the Power Five conferences.

Pac-12 Honoree, the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, are 2-0 to start the season and have more wins (2) against Pac-12 opponents than Washington does on the season. Hawaii looks to pull off an upset and make it a clean sweep against the Pac-12, and if so, should rightfully be crowned conference champion and earn the conference’s bid to the Rose Bowl.

From upset to blowout to shootout, this game could go anyway, but one thing is for sure, this Pac-12 game you don’t have to stay up till 1 in the morning to watch it’s entirety.

Here’s how you can watch Saturday’s game between Washington and Hawaii:

Date: Saturday, Sept. 14
Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
Location: Seattle, Wash.
Venue: Husky Stadium
TV: Pac-12
Live Stream: Pac-12 Network Live or FuboTV

Keys to Victory

The Washington Huskies need to take a deep breath and have the mindset that last week’s loss was uncharacteristic and will be their worst performance to this season. Their offense has the ability to score at will and needs to air it out early with Jacob Eason getting back on track. He’s capable of more than he showed a week ago, but needs to get that confidence back.

Meanwhile on defense, they need to shout down Hawaii’s air attack which is averaging over 428 yards a game.

For Hawaii, they need to embrace this moment and attack. They have a good chance at being a contender for an at-large bid for a New Year’s Six bowl game. Cal beating the Huskies couldn’t have come at a better time for the Rainbow Warriors. Hawaii needs to let Cole McDonald loose and show his big arm early on.

Prediction

As mentioned before, this game could go any type of way. The Huskies could show their dominance and have this one over before halftime. But Hawaii has a great pass game and will be in this one through the entire game, giving us fans an old-fashioned shootout. But the result is not what most expect. Hawaii takes being a three touchdown personal and come out of Seattle as victors, and pulls off on of the biggest upsets in program history.

Final: Hawaii 42, Washington 40
