Auburn Football: 3 keys to victory vs. Kent State in Week 3
Auburn football looks to move to 3-0 against Kent State in Week 3. Can the Tigers improve as SEC plays looms on the horizon?
Next week, the Auburn Tigers will travel to College Station for a showdown with Texas A&M. Since the Aggies arrival in the SEC, this matchup has proven to be a pivotal, early-season tone setter. In a season still full of questions, a second big win next week could do wonders for the Tigers confidence.
Before that, however, there is a tune-up game on the plains. On Saturday, Gus Malzahn and the Tigers will play host to Kent State. The Golden Flashes are 1-1 in this young season, with a season-opening loss to Arizona State, and a 26-23 victory over Kennesaw State.
This game is a mismatch, but it’s still a very important one. Auburn is 2-0, but not without mistakes and inconsistencies. There are far too many of those than a team should be comfortable with, and the tough SEC slate opens up next week.
Against Kent State, the Tigers will show what improvements have been made, or what holes still remain. The biggest keys to this victory are the ways this team has, or hasn’t, grown.
