USC may be the overwhelming favorite heading into this Week 3 battle in Provo, but BYU football must not be slept on. Here’s why the Cougars will win.

At the end of the day, underdogs want one thing: an opportunity to win the game at the end. Figure out a way to hang around for four quarters then have a chance in the end. The BYU Cougars are home against the USC Trojans and simply want a shot to win the game at the end.

The Cougars have experience doing this very thing. They did so last week, when they hung around the Tennessee Volunteers and found a way to win in overtime.

The Trojans are looking to leave Provo with a three-game winning streak. They roll into LaVell Edwards Stadium with true freshman Kedon Slovis at the helm once again. He balled out in a 45-20 rout of Stanford and will have to do so once again against BYU for the Trojans to win. This would be an important win for USC because the Trojans are set to host the Utah Utes in a key Pac-12 South showdown next Friday.

The Cougars need to crack the code to USC to hang around for four quarters. If they are going to pull the upset, here are three ways they do it.
