In the last tune-up before SEC play starts in Week 4, Texas A&M football hosts the Lamar Cardinals. Here is everything you need to know about this one.

After a horrid performance against Clemson, at least on the offensive side of the ball, the Aggies have a lot of fixing to do.

They struggled to get anything on the board due to missed opportunities, over-thrown and under-thrown balls and overall lazy play. It was less than exciting to watch and leaves Texas A&M fans with more questions than answers.

Now, they face off against Lamar as a tune-up game before Auburn comes to town a week from now.

Here is how you can watch the matchup:

Keys to Victory

Is it wrong to just say “don’t stink” and move on? That is basically how most of us feel about this game as the Aggies face off against a much lesser opponent in Lamar. The last time the Aggies faced off against Lamar, they won 73-3. That should be repeated this week, assuming that this team does their job throughout the matchup.

Look for Kellen Mond to get back to dropping dimes throughout the matchup, facing off against a lesser defense in Lamar. He and his receivers will likely look strong, but it won’t mean much. The key here though is to grow and get comfortable in the routes and the offensive play calls before SEC play begins against Auburn in a week.

For the defense, they need to keep doing what they have been the past two weeks. I’m happy with what I have seen from the Aggie defense and expect them to continue to grow as the season goes on. Look for that interception number to grow as well.

Prediction

This one will be all Aggies from the beginning. We will see a lot of the roster for Texas A&M as the second and third stringers get a chance to play this weekend against a lesser opponent. I also predict a shutout for Texas A&M and if they allow points, it won’t be more than a touchdown.

Final Score: Texas A&M 56, Lamar 0
