After struggling against Clemson, Texas A&M football gets a tune-up vs. Lamar before conference play begins. Let’s get bold, y’all.

Texas A&M football did not have the best game against Clemson in Week 2. Yes, the Tigers are the top ranked team in the nation.

However, that being considered, it was disappointing at best to watch the Aggies struggle to get anything going offensively due to a bunch of simply missed opportunities. Kellen Mond needed to put together the best game of his career to pull off the upset and that just isn’t what happened for the Aggies, not by a long shot.

Now, they face off against Lamar in a tune-up game before they host Auburn in Week 4. So, let’s talk bold predictions, y’all.

3. The interception number grows again

Texas A&M had four interceptions in Week 1 against Texas State. That didn’t translate against Trevor Lawrence and Clemson though as the defense, though they played well, weren’t able to force those turnovers that are instrumental to success on that side of the ball.

Yes, there was one against Clemson, but it wasn’t enough to throw the superstar quarterback off his game like the Texas State quarterback was by the Aggie defense.

I’m willing to bet that this unit gets back on track against Lamar, a much lesser opponent. However, I’d like to make it clear that even if those numbers do grow and get back on track so to speak, you can’t put much stock into it. That will apply to much of what I write here.

This game is simply for a tune-up and letting guys get their legs back underneath them after losing in demoralizing fashion against Clemson a week ago.
