As it has been in recent years, the game was exciting, to say the least as Florida football pulled off the comeback against Kentucky. What did we learn?

In what turned out to be a battle of back up quarterbacks, Florida rallied to pull off a victory against Kentucky. It has been awhile since the Wildcats were able to pull off two victories in a row against the Gators and that won’t change now as they fell in an exciting matchup between two SEC East teams.

So, that being said, what did we learn about these two teams?

3. A major injury can change a game, good or bad

Feleipe Franks went down with an ankle injury in the second half that looked really, really bad. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t come back this season. His game ended 12-for-17 for 174 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

I won’t include a video of the injury or anything like that because no one needs to watch stuff like that, but I will tell you that he is very likely done.

Enter Kyle Trask. The graduate who Dan Mullen was quite excited to say didn’t transfer like the rest. Someone that Florida Gator fans should be excited about as the season continues.

Trask was 9-for-13 and lead his team to a 19-point fourth-quarter comeback. He didn’t personally throw a touchdown or anything like that, but he orchestrated a beautiful final quarter after starting quarterback Franks went down.

Everything could have gone haywire due to a backup being thrown into an important game like this, but Trask stood tall and his team rallied around him. That is why we love college football y’all. Big shoutout to Trask and his team, it was really a beautiful thing to watch. Our prayers are with Franks as he works to come back from this injury.
