1. Neither of these teams will win the SEC East

This was an exciting game that went down to the wire as both teams fought hard. The Gators escaped Lexington with a win over Kentucky, something that statically shouldn’t be surprising as the probability of Kentucky pulling a second straight win over Florida off was extremely low.

That being said though, no one should count the Wildcats out this season. I would say the same about the Gators as well. Both teams had strong defensive moments and had offensive numbers that were about even. They each fought and had moments that it looked like they had done enough to win the game, but let me tell you this- neither of these teams is going to challenge Georgia for the SEC East. This was a fight for second place and Florida won out.

I’m impressed with both backup — now likely starting — quarterbacks.

Each has a strong group of receivers. But, if you look at what has happened so far this season with both teams, you will see groups that struggled. Florida nearly lost to Miami. Kentucky struggled with Toledo and now has a loss to Florida.

While both of these teams have a chance to make some noise this season and maybe even break into the New Years Six, neither will win the SEC East. That title belongs to the Georiga Bulldogs unless something crazy happens.
