3. Jake Fromm finally breaks out after slow start

Over the first two weeks of the 2019 season, Jake Fromm has not had to do much for the Georgia offense. The Bulldogs quarterback opened the season with a 15-of-23 performance against Vanderbilt, throwing for 156 yards and a touchdown. The following week, Fromm threw the ball just 11 times, completing 10 of his attempts for 166 yards and a score against FCS Murray State.

By halftime in the contest against Arkansas State, Fromm had already come close to doubling his passing yardage for the entire season. He had already more than doubled his passing touchdowns in 2019. In the opening two quarters, Fromm went 16-of-20 for 267 yards and three touchdowns as the Bulldogs ran up a 34-0 lead on the Red Wolves.

Fromm came in for the opening drive of the second half and guided the Bulldogs in for another touchdown. He completed just one of his two throws on the drive, finding George Pickens for 12 yards. Fromm also ran twice for six yards, as he finished the game with 285 total yards in just over 17 minutes of time on the field.

Stetson Bennett came into the game from there, finishing off the blowout for the Bulldogs. But Fromm asserted his presence as the undisputed starter with a dominant display that showcased why Jacob Eason is now in Seattle and Bennett is the benchwarmer in Athens.
