1. This is why we shouldn’t overreact to two games

This is exactly why we don’t dub teams “the new best team” in a certain conference when they truly haven’t proven anything yet. Sure, Maryland is a solid squad and has plenty of potential and talent, but the Terrapins were two games into the season and everyone was ready to anoint them the best team in the Big Ten West.

Heck, there were some even putting them at the top of their power rankings this past week because they demolished a Syracuse team that we also know nothing about.

Let’s face it, the Terrapins are going to be just fine despite this loss. Temple is never an easy team to beat on the road and they have given plenty of teams a tough time over the years, especially with that defense, but Maryland is not a contender just yet.

Mike Locksley is doing a solid job with the guys he inherited and it’ll probably take 2-3 years before the Terrapins are truly pushing for the West title. To think he turned the program and culture around in just a few months would be silly.
