For the second week in a row, BYU won in an overtime thriller. What did we learn in the matchup of the USC football and the Cougars?

Once again, BYU gets the win in a classic. Unlike the matchup with Tennessee last week, this week’s game was a tremendous quarterback matchup. These two freshmen went toe-to-toe, but in the end, Zach Wilson would be victorious.

3. Kedon Slovis didn’t look like a freshman

After an injury to JT Daniels, Kedon Slovis was thrust into the role of USC starting quarterback. He was great in relief against Fresno State, great against Stanford, and once again on Saturday, Slovis looked far more seasoned than the usual freshman.

He continued to play well, going 24-of-34 for 281 yards and two scores on Saturday.

The Slovis stat line also read three interceptions, but he was the victim of some bad luck on Saturday. He had passes tipped, including the game-sealing interception in overtime.

Slovis was on the losing end of Saturday’s matchup, but after his performance, the future only gets more exciting.
