Penn State football defeated Pitt 17-10 in the 100th meeting between the two teams. What does the victory mean for the Nittany Lions?

Penn State and Pitt met for the 100th and last time for the foreseeable future on Saturday. After a 40-minute weather delay, the Lions topped the Panthers in a close contest.

The Lions should be thankful to have escaped with a victory. Pitt outplayed them for long stretches of the game. Penn State lived mostly by chunk plays outside of a long touchdown drive in the third quarter in which they methodically moved down the field.

If it were not for a late goal line stand by Penn State and a head scratching decision by Pitt’s Pat Narduzzi to kick a field goal instead of going for a touchdown, the outcome could have been very different. Here are three overreactions to Penn State’s victory.
