1. Ian Book is a serious Heisman candidate

The Heisman Trophy could soon be coming to South Bend because of Ian Book, right?

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, folks. Book did have an unbelievable showing against New Mexico after a decent outing to start the season versus Louisville. He finished with 360 yards and five touchdowns on 15-of-24 completions and he also rushed for a team-high 46 yards and a touchdown. He finished with over 400 yards of total offense and six scores.

Book may very well be a serious Heisman candidate this season but he needs to prove that this weekend against Georgia. If he puts up 250-300 yards with a couple of touchdowns against the Bulldogs, he’ll get serious Heisman consideration.

Right now, the Heisman race is basically Tua Tagovailoa and everyone else, but if Book keeps up the pace, he could be right there.

An invite to New York at the end of the season is not out of the question, but doing what he has done against a team like Georgia is the next step.
