As we begin to sort through the results of three weeks of college football, these six upsets stood out as Week 3’s best in college football.

Week 3, in terms of calculating upsets, is an early enough point in the season to make you more fully gauge a team’s progress. Conference play is still in its beginning stages, if it has started at all, and every team has two to three game under its belt.

BYU toppling No. 24-ranked USC in overtime after a deflected pass against backup quarterback wunderkind Kedon Slovis? Kansas State stealing a road win against the SEC’s Mississippi Bulldogs in the midday Southern heat? Arizona handing Texas Tech its first loss in late-night Saturday action?

Notable games and entertaining matchups, for sure. But they shouldn’t count as “upsets”. Now that we are moving past three full weeks of college football, we should have a clearer idea of which teams are deserving of that preseason AP Top 25 ranking and of which teams are riding high based on reputation alone.

Here are the six best upsets from college football’s Week 3 action.
