Pac-12 Football Power Rankings, Week 4: Is USC a pretender?
By Kyle Grondin
Washington State has passed every test thrown at them this season. Some easy, and some more difficult, like the Cougars’ win against Houston last week. In a neutral site contest in Houston, the Cougars fought back to win 30-24.
The offense has done a great job with Anthony Gordon, not even missing a beat after last season’s record-setting performance. Gordon threw for over 400 yards again and three touchdowns.
The defense has also been great, as they were able to slow down D’Eriq King. This team is dangerous without a doubt. They have a game against UCLA that should be a win, and then they go on the road to face Utah, in a pivotal game that could decide the Pac-12.
Utah has continued to prove itself as the best option in the Pac-12 for the College Football Playoff. The running game on offense is dangerous with Zack Moss and the defense is one of the best in the country.
The Utes took care of business in Week 3 against Idaho State, and now have two difficult games to start Pac-12 play, on the road against USC and home to play Washington State.
The Utes are still favorites for now, but two weeks is a long time away.
