USC Football: 3 keys to victory vs. Utah Utes in Week 4

3. Keep Utah off schedule

The Trojan defense hasn’t been talked about much because of the injury to JT Daniels, and the play of Kedon Slovis, but the USC defense has been average at best. They haven’t been great, but they haven’t been bad either. They were decent against Fresno, better against Stanford and unable to make key plays against BYU.

Against Utah, they know what’s coming. A lot of Zack Moss and a lot of ground and pound. The Trojans have to match Utah’s physicality upfront if they want any chance to win this game.

If Utah is consistently in second and third-and-short all night, that means the Utes are on the field wearing down the Trojan defense. That spells a long night for USC.
