2. Dominate the trenches

Offensively, the power-run game is the foundation of what the Badgers want to do on offense. They have a big, strong, physical offensive line. They want to run Jonathan Taylor a lot which means they have to win upfront on offense.

Everyone in the state of Wisconsin knows what’s coming, Wisconsin executes their run game so well it’s hard to stop even when you think you are in position to stop it. Their run game keeps the Michigan offense off of the field and their defense fresh.

On defense, they want to stop the Michigan run game and disrupt Shea Patterson’s timing. Ideally, they want to create pressure with their front four and drop seven into coverage, but defensive coordinator has no problem with being aggressive and blitzing.

Both MTSU and Army proved they can pressure and bring Patterson to the ground. That spells trouble for Michigan even with Jon Runyan returning.
