1. Jeremy Pruitt misses a huge opportunity

A win in a rivalry game can do so much for a program. Even in a bad year, if you can knock off a rival, everyone’s breathes a little easier. For Jeremy Pruitt, this could have been that moment.

Florida came into Saturday off of a highly emotional SEC East game with Kentucky. After having their win streak broken a year ago, going into Lexington and getting revenge was a big moment for that team. During that game, the Gators lost Franks to that injury.

It was going to take unique circumstances for Tennessee to pull the upset, and an emotional letdown spot without their starting quarterback was the perfect spot for the Volunteers to catch Florida on Saturday.

Instead, Pruitt’s team was dominated in every facet of the game.

It’s becoming increasingly tough to find silver linings in Knoxville.

There is a bit of relief for the Volunteers. There have a bye week, so they’ll have to time to rest, recover, and get ready for the upcoming heart of the SEC schedule.

There’s bad news, too. They come off of that bye week to play Georgia. Two weeks after that, they’ll go on the road to play Alabama. September for the Volunteers ended in a rough way on Saturday, but it looks like October won’t be much easier.
