Florida State Football: 3 takeaways from big win over Louisville in Week 4
Florida State football held off Louisville to get their second win of the season. What did we learn from the Seminoles’ Week 4 victory.
In a game that looked awfully similar to the past few games of the season for Florida State, they found a way to hold on for the win. In a stadium that wasn’t even close to being full, Florida State beat the Cardinals 35-24 and can walk away with their first ACC win of the season.
What’d we learn from the Seminoles’ win?
3. Florida State almost blew it again, but held on
Florida State jumped out to a quick 21-0 nothing lead and looked like they were going to run away with the game. It was 21-0 at the end of the first quarter and Cam Akers already had two rushing touchdowns. However, things quickly started going Louisville’s way and it was looking like Florida State was going to blow the game again.
Florida State let Louisville get back in the game as the Cardinals took the lead early in the 4th quarter to make it 24-21. Louisville was driving in the 4th when their quarterback threw an interception in the red zone, which ended up being the turning point for the Seminoles.
Florida State was able to score 14 unanswered points and come back for the win. So in a game that looked very similar to the other games of their season so far, they were able to change the outcome and come away with a win. Even though they ended up blowing their big lead, they were able to finish the game strong and get the victory.
