2. Malik  Cunningham got the start for the injured Jawon Pass

Malik Cunningham started at quarterback for the Cardinals as their starter, Jawon Pass, was unable to play due to injury. Cunningham led the Cardinals to a win the previous week, but was unable to against the Seminoles, even though he played well.

Cunningham got off to a slow start as the Florida State defense was dominant the first quarter. However, Cunningham was able to find a groove and ended up leading Louisville back from being down 21-0. Cunningham, who is known for his legs and his ability to run, showed his ability to throw the ball as he used his arm to lead the Cardinals to take the lead 24-21. Cunningham did make one costly mistake though as he threw an interception in the red-zone and the Seminoles were able to gain momentum and take the lead shortly after.

Cunningham played well overall as he went completed 16-of-27 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns, along with that costly interception. Cunningham also found the end-zone on the ground as well. Even though they ended up on the wrong side of the score board, Cunningham was more than reliable in place for their starter.
