College Football Rankings 2019: Projected Top 25, Week 5 – Wisconsin rising
By Zach Bigalke
Texas found themselves in a shootout against Oklahoma State in Week 4, as the two teams traded punches throughout the contest. But the Longhorns finally pulled away in the fourth quarter to come out victorious in a 36-30 thriller on Saturday night in prime time, and they look ready to push a spot or two into the top 10 this week.
Sam Ehlinger came up big throughout the contest against the Cowboys. The quarterback threw for 281 yards and four touchdowns on 20-of-28 passing, and he contributed 70 rushing yards. Keaontay Ingram had a triple-digit day on the ground, posting 114 yards on 21 carries to pace a day where the Longhorns finished with 498 yards of offense.
Texas will take a break in Week 5 before diving back into Big 12 play with a trip to Morgantown to face West Virginia at the beginning of October. Looming on the horizon just after that game is the annual Red River Shootout against Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl, a game that looks likely to determine which team lands in pole position in the conference race.
