Notre Dame Football: 3 takeaways from tough loss to Georgia in Week 4
3. Georgia’s offense got better as the night went on
It’s hard to watch Georgia and not see shades of Alabama. This game was close early on, but much like Alabama, the Bulldogs just leaned on Notre Dame until they broke.
For most of the first half, the Bulldogs couldn’t get much going. Towards the end of the first half, a touchdown drive in response to an Irish score got things going.
It was in the second half, however, when Georgia truly took over. Featuring both a dominant run game and a timely passing attack, this offense helped the Bulldogs roll to a victory.
On the night, the Bulldogs run game was the thing, as it always is, that helped the Bulldogs wrap up Saturday’s matchup. As a whole, the unit had 152 yards and averaged 4.6 yards per carry.
D’Andre Swift had 98 of those yards. Brian Herrien added 42. These two have proven to be, once again for this program, one of the best tandems in the nation.
