1. Progression needed

The Washington State team as a whole has started off really hot and has shown that they have an elite offense. Unfortunately, that offense was not enough as they dropped to 3-1 after a loss at home against the UCLA Bruins, the Cougs are a surprise contender in the Pac-12 North and still have a shot, even after the loss.

The Cougars gave up two special teams touchdowns on a kickoff and a punt against UCLA. Both of the kicks had sub-par coverage and were doomed from the very beginning. Returner Demetric Felton for UCLA looked dynamic as ever, but the Cougars will have something to focus on going into their game against Utah next week.

Going into two tough weeks in a row at Utah and Arizona State, WSU will have to find a way to improve week to week if they want to keep their Pac-12 North division title hopes alive.

The Cougs have all the talent they need on both sides of the ball to win a conference championship, unfortunately, they have not played a complete game quite yet where there is a positive takeaway from all three phases.
