ACC Football Power Rankings, Week 5: Mack Brown train derailed?
By Dante Pryor
There’s an old saying, no news is good news. The Yellow Jackets were idle this week which means they didn’t lose. Maybe they found a quarterback that can throw for 100 yards in a college football game. Maybe they found a receiver that can catch as well. We knew this was a zero year. Just take it one day at a time coach; one day at a time. The Jackets have Temple next week. Good luck. Take it one day at a time.
So you win, and you drop down a spot? Yes, when that victory is against a team that gave up 51 against Michigan State. Have you seen the Spartans’ offense? I mean, what else were you going to do? Lose to a Group of Five team? Wait, North Carolina did, but more on them later. The Orange have are idle next Saturday, and by idle I mean they play Holy Cross at the Carrier Dome. Maybe they can work on keeping quarterback Tommy DeVito upright during the tune-up.
Boston College found a way against Rutgers — yes, Rutgers. Four wins away from that high water mark, coach. We know what the Eagles are good for: seven wins. Less than half-way there. AJ Dillon had a good game and I shouldn’t dump on the Scarlet Knights, they are actually playing better football this year. They could win more than two games this season, and the Eagles needed this win after the debacle of the Kansas game the week before. The Eagles better eat their Wheaties because they get the Demon Deacons at home next week.
