2. Ian Book is still firmly in Heisman race

Despite losing his first game of the season in Week 4, Ian Book might just be a Heisman dark-horse still. He didn’t have that poor of a showing, passing for 275 yards and two touchdowns with two picks on 29-of-47 completions. It wasn’t his best game, but it was on the road in a crazy Sanford Stadium environment.

Book could still get a look for Heisman and at this point in the year, unless you have a disaster of a game, you’re going to be in the conversation at least until Week 6-7.

The senior quarterback doesn’t have eye-popping athleticism or a rocket arm, but he’s as consistent as they come. He passed for nearly 300 yards against a top-tier defense which essentially turned the Irish into a one-dimensional team with only 14 rushes and 47 passes.

Maybe his Heisman stock took a hit or maybe some people are even forgetting him in the race completely, but this contest neither made nor broke his campaign.
