A quarter of the college football season is over and it seems like we already know how things will end up. Let’s get bold ahead of Week 5.
Last week brought with it a few upsets and quite a bit of disappointment throughout multiple fan bases, especially anyone who thought that Notre Dame or the Pac-12 were going to make the Playoff. The Irish may have a chance if they can run the table and someone else loses or something, but as of right now, they are out of the race.
That doesn’t change the excitement that surrounds every Saturday that is filled with College Football though. Let’s talk bold predictions, starting with the self-proclaimed best conference in football: The SEC.
5. An extremely boring week in the SEC
There are four matchups between conference teams this week and honestly, none are very exciting and the non-conference matchups are even worse. Vanderbilt is playing Northern Illinois and Florida is playing Towson. Nothing blockbuster in those, at all.
After falling to San Jose State a week ago, Arkansas is taking on Texas A&M in a game that tends to be more exciting than it should be. It is an interesting matchup only because Arkansas’ starting quarterback Nick Starkel was originally at Texas A&M. However, this game shouldn’t be anywhere close. Ole Miss heads to Alabama in what promises to be a blowout. Mississippi State hasn’t been all that great this season, so Auburn should cruise to victory.
The only exciting game this week, if you could call it exciting, is South Carolina taking on Kentucky. The Wildcats need this game if they want to stay relevant in the SEC and South Carolina, well, they aren’t all that great so far this year and this game will just further prove that.
