UCF went down last week, which college football team might be next in the Group of Five to get taken down? We examine the five most likely.

The highest-ranked Group of Five team stumbled last week on the road as UCF lost a close one in the last minute 35-34. With the UCF Knights now dropping back to No. 22 in the country, and Boise State stepping up as the highest-ranked G5 team in the country at No. 16, things just got a lot more interesting. With only one spot available for the Group of Five to be entered into a New Years Six Bowl game, all of these hopeful teams are hanging on by a thread each week.

Boise State and UCF are now the only two ranked teams this week that are outside of the Power Five conferences. There are however five teams in the Group of Five that have received votes which are Memphis, Army, App State, Tulane and SMU.

There are a handful of interesting games on the slate for this weekend. Coming off a loss, UCF is hosting UConn and is over 40-point favorites so this might not be the tightest game. There are some great games in the American Athletic Conference though, Memphis is hosting Navy which is a sneaky game handling the tripe option and SMU rolls down to South Florida to try and handle the Bulls on the road.

With a handful of really sneaky games on tap for this weekend. We will look at the five teams that could see their New Year’s Six dreams come to an end on Saturday.
