1. No. 5 Ohio State at Nebraska (Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET – ABC)

If I were writing these out ahead of time, this would have been a top five matchup of the entire season with College Football Playoff implications. I would have written it against my will since I personally was not, and am not, a believer of Scott Frost at Nebraska yet, but this game was getting uncontrollable amounts of buzz.

Yet, here we are. This game somehow is still topping the list for Week 5. Although, I have it here mostly because of Ohio State. Even if you don’t have much faith in Nebraska to give Ohio State a game, this is easily the toughest game of the year so far for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State has clobbered FAU, Cincinnati, Indiana and Miami (OH) on its way to a smooth 4-0. Only one of those games, Indiana, was a road game for Ohio State though. And that’s nowhere near the kind of environment it’s going to be like in Lincoln on Saturday night.

The most interesting thing about this game is that just last year in Columbus a two-win Nebraska team took Ohio State down to the wire. Maybe it’s not too much of a reach to expect a good game from Nebraska? The Huskers only finished 4-8 but gave the Buckeyes all they could handle. If anybody believes they can beat Ohio State this year it has to be the Huskers who just about did it already once before.

I’m looking forward to seeing what the Nebraska crowd is all about on Saturday night. Hopefully, this game lives up to the offseason billing. If Nebraska is able to pull off the upset then we just might be introducing a new Playoff contender to the mix.
