Week 4 was jam-packed with massive games and big moments. Is there a new team at the top of the SEC football power rankings?
The college football season is officially in full swing. Week four was absolutely loaded, and as we enter the final weekend of September, the year is beginning to take shape.
Now with four weeks of evidence, we’re beginning to find out what these teams really are. There were huge matchups, controversial losses, and rivalry blowouts.
Here’s how the conference lines up through the first four weeks of the season.
Once again, Tennessee was in the losing column on Saturday. This time, however, it came to a rival. You can lose games, but in this sport, when you drop games to rivals, the heat gets turned up.
Jeremy Pruitt’s job is now becoming a huge topic of conversation. Obviously, nothing has changed as of writing, but where there’s smoke, there’s fire. If the Volunteers keep losing games to SEC foes, and that’s likely, then there could be change coming to Knoxville.
Only the ill-will built up by Tennessee keeps the Razorbacks out of the 14th spot. Arkansas lost, at home, to San Jose State on Saturday, 31-24. Josh Love put up 402 passing yards for the Spartans, a large chunk of the 503 yards that Arkansas gave up.
Things don’t get easier next week, as the Razorbacks travel to Dallas to play Texas A&M. The Aggies have two losses on the record, but they come to two top ten teams. It’s the beginning of a tough stretch for Chad Morris’ team, as Arkansas will play Kentucky, Auburn and Alabama in October.
