The Week 5 slate in college football doesn’t look as juicy on the surface, but could produce some chaotic results that alter the nation’s landscape.

It’s typically the weekends you don’t expect in college football that produce chaotic results with a number of upsets. Week 5 doesn’t look too strong on the surface, but there’s a couple ranked vs. ranked matchups on the slate to go along with several under-the-radar games that could captivate audiences.

Notre Dame, a week after showing the nation it belonged among the elite in a close loss to Georgia, will hope to avoid a letdown game as undefeated Virginia invades South Bend searching for an upset.

The other ranked versus ranked matchup pits a hot-and-cold USC team in Seattle against Washington as both teams look to make statements and position themselves for a potential run to the Rose Bowl.

The first few weeks of the college football season have produced chalky results, so it feels a matter of when, not if, we get a chaotic weekend that changes the landscape of contenders across the nation.

I’ve been on an unprecedented hot streak on picks against-the-spread through the first four weeks, so I anticipate a course correction at some point, but let’s ride this hot streak while it lasts. After a 70 percent mark last week, I’m up to 60 percent on the season.

Let’s see if we can keep it up. Here are the picks for the biggest games of Week 5:

Last Week: 7-3 straight up, 7-3 against the spread
Season: 30-10 straight up, 24-16 ATS
