Washington State football is looking for a bounce-back win against Utah in Salt Lake City. What are the most important factors for WSU to get the win?

Washington State football suffered one of the most devastating losses that we have seen in recent memory last week. Losing to UCLA, who was previously winless 67-63 and blowing a 32-point lead late in the third quarter. Everything seemed to bounce UCLA’s way in the second half as the Bruins scored 50 points to come from behind and stun the Cougars in Pullman.

Washington State had many bright spots on offense, racking up over 700 yards of total offense and scoring 63 points. Unfortunately, this was not enough to come away with the victory last week. Wazzu is facing an especially tough Utah team on the road, who is coming off a loss at USC.

Utah was ranked in the top ten in the country and was looked at as one of the best Pac-12 teams headed into last week’s matchup. After losing to the Trojans third-string quarterback and unable to mount a comeback in the second half, the Utes are trying to get back on track this week at home.

Washington State was pitiful last week not only on defense but on special teams as well. Giving up two touchdowns on a kickoff and a punt return. Plays like these are absolute momentum killers and led to their dramatic loss last Saturday at home. To beat Utah, the Cougs will have to tighten up and do these three things to overcome a good Ute team.
