Iowa State football travels to Waco to tangle with Baylor on Saturday afternoon. Here are three keys for the Cyclones to have a chance to win.

The Iowa State Cyclones travel to Waco for a game against the Baylor Bears on Saturday afternoon. Both the Cyclones and the Bears come into the game fresh off wins last weekend.

The Bears defeated an undermanned Rice team 21-13, and the Cyclones destroyed Louisiana-Monroe in Ames. Baylor is looking to open Big 12 play and remain undefeated, and Iowa State looks for their third win of the season.

This one promises to be close. How do the Cyclones come away with the win?

3. Neutralize Charlie Brewer

Baylor’s junior quarterback Charlie Brewer is the catalyst to the offense. He makes everything go. He’s been outstanding this year completing 71 percent of his passes, seven touchdowns and zero interceptions. Even when Baylor didn’t play well against Rice, Brewer willed them to victory.

If Brewer gets loose against the Cyclones, it’s going to be hard defensively for the Cyclones.

Brewer has come into this season and built on a fantastic sophomore year last season. He had his coming out party against Vanderbilt throwing for 384 yards and two touchdowns. He is on pace to destroy his numbers from last season.
