Notre Dame football takes on the Virginia Cavaliers in this non-conference matchup. Notre Dame is looking to avenge their loss last week at Georgia.

Notre Dame Football is coming off a tough loss to Georgia, making the rest of the season the utmost importance in order for Notre Dame to have a chance at the College Football Playoff.

The Fighting Irish went on the road last week to play Georgia who is ranked in the top three in the country. The Irish fell 23-17 but had one of the most impressive performances of the weekend being able to keep up with the Bulldogs on the road.

Notre Dame comes back home to play the Virginia Cavaliers who are also ranked within the top 20 in the country. The undefeated Cavaliers come into the game 4-0 although they have not played any ranked teams thus far in 2019. The Cavs tout the dynamic senior quarterback Bryce Perkins who has been on fire throughout the first four games. Perkins has over 800 passing yards and over 200 rushing yards and has been a tough customer to bring down adding two touchdowns on the ground as well.

The Fighting Irish will have their hands full with Bryce Perkins but have been stellar in their pass defense. Allowing only 150 yards on average through the air a game and forcing teams to be one dimensional. The Irish have only allowed 18 points per game and look to keep that streak alive as they host the Cavaliers.

Ian Book leads the Notre Dame offense with eight touchdowns and was a pre-season pick by many to make a Heisman run. Book has not put up Heisman numbers through the first four games but looks poised to open up the offense this weekend and put up big numbers. Here are three bold predictions for this matchup on Saturday.
