Texas A&M football can use Arkansas as stepping stone in SEC
By Shelbie Warr
Both desperate for a win, Arkansas and Texas A&M football face off on Saturday. Here is everything you need to know about the matchup.
The Razorbacks aren’t very good, like at all. They have losses to Ole Miss and San Jose State. Not a good look Razorbacks, especially that second one. The Aggies, well, they are good in theory, but we have yet to see that play out.
Of course, they have played two of the top 10 teams in the nation right now, so it hasn’t been easy, but they haven’t shown much effort up to this point at all against Power Five teams and that just isn’t going to fly.
Now, these two teams get together as both are desperate for a win and that is putting it mildly. They have more questions than answers and a lot to figure out on the field. Will we have another close one? Overtime again maybe? We will just have to wait and see.

Keys to Victory
For Arkansas, first and foremost, it has to take care of the ball. Turnovers will not get you a win and the Razorbacks had five of them against San Jose State. Nick Starkel has to be better than he has been throughout the season and the defense has to figure out how to put a stop to Kellen Mond’s offense which will surely be better than it was last week against Auburn.
For the Aggies, it’s all about sticking to the game plan. Don’t let the fact that you need this win or the fact that a good friend of yours now sits on the opposing sideline distract you from what needs to happen. Shut down Rakeem Boyd. Get Starkel under pressure. Force those turnovers that doomed the Razorbacks against San Jose State. Make this one happen.
Prediction
This should be an easy and dominating win for the Aggies. Though, like it always is, it will be a lot closer than necessary- at least at the start. I am looking for at least a 20 point win for the Aggies by the time things are all said and done, thanks to some turnovers and maybe a pick-six or two.
Final Score: Texas A&M 42, Arkansas 17
