2. Passing game finds its rhythm

Bo Nix has pulled off some crazy plays and game-winning and game-sealing drives, but Saturday was, by far, Nix’s most complete game. He’s been strong on the ground and inconsistent through the air all year, but against the Bulldogs, he put everything together.

The true freshman passer went 16-of-21 for 335 yards and two touchdowns. He never turned the ball over, and looked more comfortable in the pocket than he has all year.

The signature connection on Saturday, as it was to beat Oregon, was Nix throwing to Seth Williams. On Saturday, that connection accounted for eight completions, 161 yards, and two touchdowns.

The running game was consistent against the Bulldogs, and it continues to improve from week to week. It’s the emergence of this passing game, however, that can take this team to the next level.
