1. Baylor came up clutch after giving up a lead

Despite the sloppy game for the most part by both teams, Baylor was able to take a commanding lead as the Bears found themselves up 20-0 entering the fourth quarter.

Iowa State’s offense went from being completely quiet, to moving the ball efficiently once the fourth quarter came around. The Cyclones found themselves with a lead with just under four minutes left in the game as they were up 21-20.

Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy was one of the big reasons why the Cyclones were able to come back. While he played poorly in the first half, he had a big second half and ended the game throwing for 342 yards and two touchdowns. However, it was Baylor quarterback Charlie Brewer who ended up leading his team to the victory.

When Baylor blew a big lead, Brewer came back on his final drive and showed his ability to stay calm and pressure and lead his team down the field. He ended the game with 307 yards and three touchdowns and used his legs through out the game to avoid pressure.

Baylor held on for a big win despite letting the lead escape them momentarily and they now boast a 4-0 record as Iowa State falls to 2-2.
