Notre Dame football picked up a big win over Virginia at home on Saturday afternoon. What did we learn from the Irish victory?

On Saturday, Notre Dame defeated Virginia by a score of 35-20. Brian Kelly’s team was down 17-14 at the half, but a big third quarter put the Irish definitively in front.

You couldn’t ask for a better rebound in South Bend. Last week’s loss to Georgia was tough, but a ranked win just seven days later is exactly what the Irish needed.

3. Bryce Perkins not enough for Cavaliers

Bryce Perkins entered the season with a ton of hype, and he has lived up to it. That continued Saturday, but in the end, it wasn’t enough.

Perkins was again great on Saturday, going 30-of-43 for 334 yards and two touchdowns. However, there were also two interceptions on the stat line, and in a 15-point game, they loom large over the outcome of this game.

Additionally, the Cavaliers were only able to muster four yards rushing for the entire game.

Perkins again played his heart out, but against the 10th-ranked Irish, a few key mistakes were Virginia’s undoing.
