Oklahoma football handled Texas Tech in blowout fashion on Saturday. What did we learn from the Sooners’ dominant victory?

The ball keeps rolling in Norman. Lincoln Riley’s team moved to 4-0 with a 55-16 win against Texas Tech, and they’re showing absolutely no signs of slowing down.

Saturday’s game was a complete performance. Offense, defense, and special teams were dominant on Saturday.

3. Defense was suffocating

Entering the fourth quarter, the Red Raiders still hadn’t eclipsed 100 yards. The Sooners held them to 1-of-14 on third down. There were some garbage-time gains late in the game, but Alex Grinch’s defense had a dominant day.

The offense is obviously great (more on that shortly), but if this defense continues to get better, this playoff team becomes a real threat to be a playoff champion.

The addition of Alex Grinch as defensive coordinator was one of the sport’s most underrated coaching hires at the time it happened, but it very well may end up producing a championship in Norman.
