1. Jacob Eason had his moments in the Washington win

The addition of former Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason to the Washington offense was supposed to serve as a catalyst after several years of stagnation with Jake Browning at the helm. Things haven’t quite played out in that manner so far this season, as Eason has been serviceable but hardly the massive upgrade that many expected.

Still, Eason had his moments as Washington pulled away for victory at home against the Trojans. The quarterback completed 16 of his 26 attempts for 180 yards. Though he did not throw any touchdown passes, Eason also managed to refrain from tossing any interceptions. It was solid, if unspectacular, and it was certainly enough to take down a USC offense unable to keep up.

After taking an early sack on Washington’s opening drive, the Huskies offensive line was able to offer Eason solid protection through the rest of the contest. Sacked just once more in the second half, Eason had plenty of time to make decisions behind Washington’s offensive line.

Moving forward, Washington will look to keep doing what they did against the Trojans. While they would be happy if Eason was able to increase his productivity, the Huskies continue to thrive even when the quarterback has a relatively quiet day.
