2020 NFL Mock Draft, Week 6: Chase Young takes top spot
By Phil Poling
Northwestern’s Paddy Fisher is another tackling machine with first round potential in the 2020 NFL Draft. He stands 6-foot-4 and weighs in at around 246 pounds and has patrolled the second level of the Wildcats’ defense since 2017.
He played 13 and 14 games as a freshman and sophomore, respectively, totaling 227 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, eight forced fumbles, five pass deflections and two interceptions. Through four games in 2019, Fisher’s amassed 27 tackles, although the Huskies have gone just 1-3.
The Saints would be wise to add another tackler to their second level defensively, with Demario Davis and A.J. Klein already patrolling sideline-to-sideline. The early-season addition of Kiko Alonso helps them this season, but who knows if he’s in the long-term plans. Fisher would provide some youth, but also a player who they can plug in and play right away if needed.
