5. Utah State at No. 5 LSU (Oct. 5 at Noon ET –  SEC Network)

This matchup isn’t on the list this week just because of LSU. It’s on the list because of Jordan Love too. The quarterback for Utah State has had preseason draft buzz leak into the regular season suggesting he could be chosen in the first round of the NFL Draft next spring.

Love hasn’t been great so far this year, but he is coming off of a stellar 2018 season where he led an offense that was one of the most high-powered units in the country. This is a massive game on Utah State’s schedule and it comes at an inconvenient time for LSU, who has Florida coming to town next weekend. If there’s ever an occasion for the Jordan Love breakout party, it’s this Saturday in Baton Rouge.

LSU has been a machine this year on offense so it may not matter for Love and Utah State. The Aggies could put up 40 and still lose by a few scores. But that’s the thing. Utah State could put up 40 this weekend and turn this ‘cupcake’ game into a shootout.

Joe Burrow has also picked up some serious draft hype over the first few weeks of the season so this game should be a treat for fans tuning in for the early game. LSU is far and away the better team, but that’s why they call it an “upset”. I’m not going to be bold enough to predict Utah State will do it, but the Aggies are going to make LSU earn a win this weekend.
