Offense

Quarterback: C+

Ryan Hilinski played a mediocre game for South Carolina in this one. He had 140 passing yards on 27 attempts and did not add any passing touchdowns. I’d give Hilinski a C+ rating for not finding more room in the passing game.

Running Backs: A+

Several running backs got into the mix for South Carolina. Tavien Feaster and Rico Dowdle both put up fairly identical numbers and they both had 15 carries on the night. Feaster out-rushed Dowdle by a small margin with 107 total yards to 102 from the latter. Mond Denson also added 10 rushes for 41 yards.

Feaster looked dynamic for South Carolina. On one of his touchdown runs, he broke two tackles and barreled a defender from the three yard line all the way into the end zone. Rico was also running with aggression. Neither back seemed to go down by the first tackler.

Receivers/Tight Ends: C+

Bryan Edwards had six catches for 37 yards while Shi Smith had two grabs for 30 yards. There were a slew of other receivers that had one or two grabs. It wasn’t a stellar night for the South Carolina receiving corps. I gave the Gamecocks receivers this grade for not getting more separation in this one.
