Arizona State football has exceeded expectations through the first month of the season but what else can fans look forward to in October?

Through five weeks, Arizona State has exceeded expectations. No one expected the Sun Devils to be sniffing the AP Top 25 after the month of September, especially after losing N’Keal Harry, a 1,000-yard receiver, and 3,000-yard passer Manny Wilkins.

But Jayden Daniels has been a pleasant surprise.

Even behind an offensive line that has been mediocre, at best, the Sun Devils have found a way to get the job done.

Herm Edwards continues to prove he was the right hire for the Sun Devils as they enter a crucial month of October which could decide their 2019 season outcome.

3. Jayden Daniels averages 300-plus total yards

Arizona State has three games in the month of October and two of those come against teams that have been ranked in the top 25 this season.

That won’t faze freshman quarterback Jayden Daniels who has already gone on the road to take down two ranked opponents in his first full month as a starter. He took down Michigan State with a late, clutch drive and came from behind to beat Cal.

Now, he gets an opportunity to face the toughest defense in the conference in Utah as well as a high-powered Washington State team. That one might have to be a shootout if the Sun Devils want to pull out a win.

Daniels has been playing exceptionally well through the first five games and that will continue against Washington State, Utah and UCLA as he’ll average over 300 total yards per game.
