Michigan Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Iowa in Week 6
3. Shea Patterson breaks out
Shea Patterson threw for 2,600 yards last year and had the ability, for the most part, to break free at any moment out of the pocket. He has not looked like himself early on in the season, only having six touchdowns in just four games throwing uncharacteristic passes that have led to two interceptions on the year.
The bright spot for the Wolverines has been their running game no doubt with ten total touchdowns on the ground. The Hawkeyes, however, have held their opponents to only 77 rushing yards a game and are tough upfront. This will force Patterson into obvious passing situations and we should see a much more Patterson like performance on Saturday if they are able to protect him.
Patterson has been sacked nine times in just four games so the protection will be really key here. If he has a bunch of time to throw, we could see the first of many great games from Patterson as the Big Ten schedule gets going.
