With the most grueling part of the schedule in the past, Notre Dame football takes on Bowling Green in a game that could get out of hand early.

It’s a common saying in sports that teams will have the toughest of their opponents “circled on their schedule.” However, the same could be said for matchups such as this week’s contest vs. Bowling Green.

After taking on Georgia and Virginia in consecutive weeks, the Irish will be more than grateful to have a break from some of college football’s elite.

With that said, the coaching staff would be remiss if they allowed their team to ease up against such a lesser opponent. After all, one of the main critiques of the Irish in recent years has been their inability to really beat down on opponents that are of little to no threat. No game is a given, of course, but this may be as close at it gets for the Irish, at least as it relates to this season.

With that said, head coach Brian Kelly has made it a point to put forth a full effort regardless of their opponent’s merit. Things could quickly go south for Bowling Green if the Irish apply that principle this weekend, setting up for some big days across the board.

Here are a few bold predictions for Notre Dame as they look to continue what has been a successful season so far.
