3. Protect Justin Fields

Michigan State’s defense has been suffocating in their first five games of the season. Giving up an astounding 253 yards of total offense a game with only 55 of those yards coming on the ground. This is going to be Ohio State’s toughest matchup of the year so far and one of the best defenses that they have to play all year.

Ohio State has done a lackluster job of protecting Fields in the first five games giving up nine total sacks and Fields having to escape the pocket on almost every drive. This could be a way for the Spartans to exploit an otherwise almost perfect start for Ohio State.

The Buckeyes will have to provide time for Fields to throw on big passing downs and allow Dobbins to run free as they had in the past five games. We should see two great defenses go against each other and a slowed offense coming from the Buckeyes, how slowed will depend on how good of production the Buckeyes get from the line.
