SMU Football: 3 keys to victory vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricane in Week 6
SMU football comes back home to face Tulsa in this American Athletic Conference matchup. Will SMU keep rising in the polls after Tulsa?
SMU Football is quickly becoming one of the teams to watch as they have climbed the polls and now sit at No. 24 in the AP. They have some work to do as UCF and Boise State currently rank ahead of them as the top Group of Five team. Shane Buechele has sparked the Mustangs after transferring from Texas and making SMU a powerhouse on offense.
SMU has started off the season 5-0 and has blown by teams, scoring 44 points a game with over 510 yards on offense. SMU particularly impressed everyone in the country with their win against TCU on the road. Beating the Horned Frogs 41-38 put the Mustangs on the map and they have been able to continue to impress as the season has gone on.
Tulsa has had an up and down season so far, losing to Oklahoma State and Michigan State in games that really never got too far away from the Golden Hurricane’s. Last week Tulsa turned around and beat a good Wyoming team that is going to compete for a Mountain West championship 24-21. Tulsa should be a great matchup for SMU and comes into the game with a ton of momentum.
