Tennessee Football: 5 bold predictions for October 2019
5. Georgia wins big in Knoxville
Tennessee’s first task in October is to host the Georgia Bulldogs in Knoxville. The word “task” is an understatement. The Bulldogs are atrocious. They are a mean, well-balanced, and successfully coached football team that is coming hot off a victory over Notre Dame.
They are, without a doubt, the best team in the SEC Eastern division. Georgia is on the road to Atlanta and Tennessee football is in their way. I don’t even expect this to be a game. Unlike last season against the Vols, Jake Fromm will have a huge day.
Volunteer hopefuls are clinging onto Jim Chaney to pull off an upset. The former Bulldog offensive coordinator may know his way around the Georgia offense, but I assure you that Kirby Smart and his new staff are eager to make fools of Jeremy Pruitt and Chaney.
Even with turnovers and mistakes by Georgia, I don’t even know if Tennessee will be able to hang. There doesn’t seem to be enough will power and effort by the Volunteers to even possibly sneak an upset.
