4. Huskies breakthrough

Chris Peterson and the Washington Huskies have been a top Pac-12 team since Peterson got to campus in 2014. They have also made the College Football Playoff once already and are poised to keep knocking on the door as Peterson keeps recruiting at such a high level. Entering October, the Huskies are in the top 15 at 4-1 and look to get even further to show they are the top Pac-12 program once again.

The Huskies slate includes Stanford, Arizona and Oregon to round out their October and go into November with a 7-1 record. Oregon is looking like the toughest game in October, if not for the entire Husky season. With top-rated quarterback Justin Herbert leading the Ducks, the Husky defense will yet again be a challenge at the end of October at home in Seattle.

The Huskies have a great chance to move ahead in the polls after playing a ranked Oregon team and two conference opponents. Look for the Huskies to break into the top ten teams in the country after October is all said and done.
