West Virginia football plays host to the 11th-ranked Texas Longhorns on Saturday. What do the Mountaineers need to do in order to pull off an upset?

When Neal Brown and the Mountaineers take the field next, they’ll be a two-score underdog against the Longhorns at home. For a 3-1 team, that might seem a bit odd. But West Virginia is lucky to have the record they have. Wins against James Madison, NC State and Kansas don’t appear to have impressed anybody, but that doesn’t matter; three wins are three wins.

Texas, on the other hand, suffered their lone loss to a Top 10 team in LSU, but it did come in Austin. Would the Longhorns have stayed ranked so high if they didn’t start the season ranked so high? That we’ll never know, but Texas finally appears to be back under coach Tom Herman’s tutelage.

Quarterback Sam Ehlinger is quietly building a Heisman resume, and his weapons on the outside are performing for the second-straight season.

It’s not about what Texas is going to do, though. Instead, we’ll be focused on what Brown and the Mountaineers will need to accomplish to walk away from Milan Puskar Stadium Saturday with a victory. More points, obviously, but what specifically?
