After an ugly win over Northwestern in Madison, Wisconsin football returns to action to face a mediocre Kent State team. What must the Badgers do to win?

Wisconsin returns to the field after slogging its way to a victory over Northwestern. It was a game that featured two defensive touchdowns, and another strong performance from Heisman trophy candidate Jonathan Taylor.

But the passing game really struggled in their last game, as Jack Coan was inconsistent, and the defense still allowed 12 points in the fourth quarter that kept the Wildcats in the game. Overall the game could be equated to a hangover game, but the Badgers found a way to win and move on, an important quality as they get about halfway through the season.

The Badgers now get one final tune-up game against Kent State, a game where Wisconsin is currently 35 point favorites. But they can’t overlook a Golden Flashes offense that scored 62 points last week against Bowling Green, and will need to fine tune their game before Michigan State the following week.

While it shouldn’t be tough for the Badgers to cruise to victory, here are the three keys to beating Kent State.
